Oracle ⇄ ADLS Bridge

Oracle archive databases are expensive to keep and risky to retire. License and support renewals keep billing for data nobody queries outside audits, while HIPAA, PCI, and GDPR retention mandates require years of accessibility. Oracle ⇄ ADLS Bridge removes that trade-off: archive Oracle data to low-cost Azure storage in an open format, keep every row queryable, and decommission the source database — without losing the ability to restore.

The solution extracts data from any TCP-reachable Oracle database — on-premises (via ExpressRoute/VPN), OCI, AWS RDS, or an Azure VM — and writes it to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 as Snappy-compressed Parquet. Two-way: restore back to Oracle when you need it, or query the archive in place via Azure Synapse Analytics serverless SQL or Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse without recreating the database.

KEY CAPABILITIES

- Source-agnostic Oracle reads via JDBC. Three-phase parallel extract (PK / ROWID / LOB) with automatic table classification and per-table SCN consistency.
- Captured DDL alongside data. Restore reapplies the schema with portability cleanups and validates row counts post-restore.
- Restore-to-query. Every extract emits Synapse and Fabric catalog SQL — run one script and get queryable views over the Parquet without restoring to Oracle.
- HIPAA-ready. Optional private endpoints on storage and Azure Key Vault, RBAC-only access, and an optional 7-year WORM immutability policy for compliance archive.
- GDPR data residency. Archived data never leaves the Azure region you choose at deploy time.
