Autocomplete Filter (BI-Champ Suite)

This slicer brings autocompletion to Power BI, letting you quickly search for values in text fields. Autocompletion allows the user to type a few letters of an identifier, name, code, phrase, or other text—and the visual predicts matching values so they can be instantly selected as report filters.

You can filter using multiple terms (exact or wildcard), leverage fuzzy matching, copy-and-paste into and out of the slicer, view secondary measures in the lookup list, and much more. With 100+ configurable settings for behavior and formatting, this slicer helps you search efficiently, especially when dealing with identifiers, codes, names, and any modest-length text fields.

There are a wide variety of options, including:

• Have the visual complete what you’ve started typing based on detected matches
• Enter one or more search terms—either exact matches or partial matches
• Options for case-insensitive, diacritic-insensitive, punctuation-insensitive, whitespace-insensitive, and even spelling-insensitive (fuzzy) matching
• Select from multiple fuzzy matching algorithms
• Control where the suggestion list appears
• Automatically detect how many characters are needed before predictions begin
• Display secondary values in the suggestion list to help with better selection (e.g., additional descriptive fields)
• Expand matches: convert partial-match text into actual matched values, which can be exported directly (comma or line delimited) and pasted into Excel, email, or other tools
• Paste lists of values directly from Excel, email, or other sources into the filter area
• When multiple selections are enabled, display chosen values as text or as pills
• Tool-tip and drill-through support for exact-match pills
• Optional utility buttons: reset, include/exclude blanks, copy filtered values, and more
• Handles large datasets efficiently, with loading feedback
• Extensive font and color override options
• Control over sorting behaviors
• Ability (with caveats) to overlay the suggestion list over other visuals on a page
• Multi-language support
